Product Description The Intelli IMT-500 clip on chromatic tuner is designed to tune electric and acoustic guitars, basses, violins, banjos, mandolins and more without interference from ambient room noise, all without the use of wires, microphones or pickups. Tuning in noisy environments is a easy because the unique, flexible clamp actually "feels" the instrument's vibrational energy instead of relying on sound. And, the swivel allows a perfect view of the back lit display. The best part is that this amazing quality tuner costs a fraction of what other similar tuners cost.

Clip on Guitar Tuner August 18, 2010 cubadad Prompt receipt of the product. The instrument initially tended to fail to identify the
low "E" string. However, by clipping it directly above the E string, the problem was
solved and I am quite pleased with the Intelli IMT500 Tuner.
Slow and innacurate August 18, 2010 P. Emerson (Arizona USA) I play acoustic guitar and also have a tenor ukulele. This is my first clip-on type tuner. I bought the Intelli IMT500 after seeing how convenient my brother's Korg AW2G Clip-on Tuner was when we played together. Previously I had been using a Sabine STX1100 (kinda bulky) and an iPhone app (Guitar toolkit).
The Intelli IMT500 Clip-on Chromatic Digital Tuner for Strings is by far the slowest and least accurate of the tuners listed above. Using the Intelli IMT500 is very frustrating, the only way to get close to accurate tuning is to silence all the strings, wait for the tuner needle to drift back to zero, pluck one string, let it re-zero, pluck the next string, let it re zero... The tuning needle moves so slow that often you tune up or down past the target and have to keep correcting.
I tested it against the iPhone app which shows plus or minus cents and is accurate down to .1 khz. The Intelli IMT500 was always at least 5 cents off and some times tuned one string high and one string low, so the accuracy is not limited to being sharp or flat.
All in all I would not recommend this item. Try the Korg AW2G Clip-on Tuner, which I have used and love the speed and accuracy. I am not going to keep the Intelli IMT500 and I will send it back as soon as I find the box.
Great tuner August 17, 2010 Michael W. Jones (Tennessee) This is the only tuner I can get to work on my banjo. They are not very sturdy. My last one had to be glued as it came apart. But at this price I keep an extra one in my case. They are also very easy to read.
digital string tuner August 16, 2010 Donna (Norfolk, VA USA) Fast shipping & great deal! Easy to use for guitar tuning for my 9 y/o.
a nice little tuner August 15, 2010 John Scot Herries this tuner seems to work very well. it's a little slow, but for the price you can't go wrong. the clip is pretty flimsy and time will tell if it lasts as long as the rest of the tuner.
