Easy, Convenient and Accurate August 19, 2010 Michael W. Arau (Suquamish, WA) I've used many tuners and a lot of them fall short of the mark. I have some that are inline and work well, but this isn't always convenient with all the plugging and unplugging. They also don't work well with my acoustic guitars. The Korg AW2G is perfect. I just clip it on the headstock and leave it there. I can retune anytime without unplugging. I find it very responsive and it works well in a noisy environment.
LOVE THIS TUNER. July 1, 2010 Harry Reimer This is a great little tuner. I used to use a chromatic tuner you had to plug in and I would groan each time I needed to use it, with this I check in seconds now if everything is in tune. It clips on easily, the only problem I had was I could not figure out how to tune my 12 string with this tuner. Maybe Im missing something.. Highly recommended.
works fine but build quality is low June 14, 2010 M. Dynarski (New Jersey USA) I have a couple of these tuners. As tuners, they are fine. But both have come apart in different ways, the back fell off one and the rubber pad fell off the other. As long as you leave it attached to your headstock, the build quality probably is not an issue. If you put the tuner in your pocket to carry it around, you might have these things happen.
And, interestingly, compared with a strobe tuner (I use the Petersen iPhone app), this tuner has a flatter D and low E, on a Martin HD-28V. But the iPhone app can't be used in a noisy setting.
Excellent Tuner, Great Display April 12, 2010 Richard Berryhill (Silicon Valley, USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Over the years I've gotten, and used, about 6 different electronic tuners and this one beats them all for tuning 6 and 12 string as well as a Mandolin. It is very light and small, making it easy to carry and so light you could leave it clipped on a guitar while you played it.
The back light can be set to on or off, in case you don't want an audience to be distracted, I suppose, from other performers while you re-string or just check the tuning.
It can also be re-calibrated high or low by amounts of 1 cycle per second (up to its limit), and I find the display is very informative and easy to use. When the correct tuning is reached, the lines go from only on line to three, making it very easy get "right on."
It is really great for a 12 string, which can be difficult to tune with any other tuner. I've now bought two (one for me, one for the wife), and we both love them, preferring them to several other tuners, including another Korg or two.
Finally, it's great on battery life (remember to turn it off after using), and the batteries are probably the most common lithium batteries and can be found anywhere.
Small but feature laden February 21, 2010 topcat (Montezuma, NM United States) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I really like this tuner. First of all it is very accurate. You can get into the ballpark with the note name between the lighted triangles and then more precisely with the meter needle. I like the perfect third option and have used it successfully on the guitar, tuning the g string normally and then going to the perfect third mark for the b string. I also like the ability to use either a mic or just the piezo (vibration) mode. I have a lot of different instruments and some instruments really need a mic: wind instruments, harmonicas, piano, etc. With this ability you can tune your guitar and other instruments to the piano or other untunable instrument so you can all be in tune with each other. Finally, it is very unobtrusive because the little screen folds behind the head of your guitar.
